About the Author

Sian Anderson is a media powerhouse and restaurateur. Alongside running her own restaurant, Octaves, Sian also broadcasts on BBC Radio 1Xtra every Saturday and has a specialist DJ show on Mondays. She is also the presenter of Channel 5/BET's Big Money Munch, a culinary journey to uncover and celebrate the best Black-owned eateries in the UK. Sian's kitchen has always been a space for connection and gathering. Her passion for food is grounded in sharing a meal with others for nourishment and enjoyment. She also took her mate Ed Sheeran's advice and opened Octaves, a modern Caribbean restaurant in London in September 2023. Her first self-published cookbook, Sian and Her Son, and was published in lockdown in 2021. The book features the cooking Sian and her son, Elijah, bonded over during the pandemic and includes delicious recipes for both adults and children.
