Accepting with a shrug, he is whipped across the universe to collect his prize. The catch? There's no way home. Enlisting the help of galactic bureaucrats, planetary engineers and a couple of gods, Carmody embarks on a desperate search for Earth, all the while being pursued by a perplexing predatory creature...

Dimension of Miracles by Robert Sheckley is celebrated as a hilarious science fiction satire. It has been compared to the style of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, who himself deemed Sheckley's work as the only comparable piece. Neil Gaiman praises it as a marvelous work, while J.G. Ballard highlights Sheckley's wit and intelligence, likening the narrative to an intergalactic Alice in Wonderland.
