About the Author
Alexander M. Reiter,Β DipTzt, DrMedVet, DipAVDC, DipEVDCM, graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria in 1996. He completed a dentistry and oral surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2000 and became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College and European Veterinary Dental College in 2001. Alexander is currently Associate Professor and Chief of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the universityβs small animal hospital. His interests include tooth resorption, periodontal surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery (trauma and oncology), palate surgery, maxillofacial reconstruction, microsurgery (free microvascular tissue transfer), oral manifestation of systemic disease, and systemic manifestation of oral disease.
Margherita Gracis,Β DVM, DipAVDC, DipEVDC, graduatedΒ from the Veterinary School ofΒ the University of Milan (Italy) in 1993.Β After working in small animal private practice for a few years, she moved to the USA, where she completed a Residency program and worked as Lecturer in Veterinary Dentistry for a few years at the University of Pennsylvania.Β Since 2000, she has been working at different referral clinics in Northern Italy.Β She is Associate Editor ofΒ Veterinary Dentistry and Oromaxillofacial SurgeryΒ (specialty section ofΒ Frontiers in Veterinary Science), andΒ member of the Editorial Review Board of theΒ Journal of Veterinary DentistryΒ and other national and international scientific journals. She has authored several scientific publications, and is an active lecturer.Β Β Β
