Discover a world of dragons, djinn, and denizens of the dark with Monsterlogica, an enchanting compendium of 50 mythical creatures from around the world.

Monsterlogica introduces readers aged 7-11 to lumbering trolls, impossible hybrids, trickster spirits, and the many other shapes that monsters have taken in world folklore over the centuries. Each entry is accompanied by a spectacular portrait, as well as a page of engrossing text wherein storyteller and folklorist Martin Maudsley deftly sifts through centuries of legend to get at the core of what makes each creature special.

Monsterlogica is divided into three sections: Monsters, including the Kraken of Norse legend; Beasts, including the thunderous Loong of China; and Magical Beings, including the Adaro, a shark-spirit that swims the Pacific. Keep an ear out for the howling of Werewolves, watch the skies for the enormous Roc, and search enchanted forests for the Unicorn. Weaving together myths and mysteries, fact and fantasy, this must-have illustrated treasury makes for a spellbinding keepsake that will reveal something new every time you revisit.

Some of these creatures are terrifying, others friendly, and more than a few have a taste for mischief. One thing they all have in common is that the world they dwell in is not so far from our own...

Also in the series: Mythologica, an encyclopaedia of gods, monsters, and mortals from ancient Greece; Astrologica, an encyclopaedia of myths and legends from the planets, stars, and skies.
