A Vindication of the Rights of Woman (Hero Classics) is one of the first works published on feminist philosophy. In response to the theorists of the time who argued that education was not a place for women, Wollstonecraft rebukes such oppressive stances. She champions the idea of empowering women in education, politics, and society, rather than merely serving as decorative additions to their husbands.
