About the Author
Phillipa Page qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2006 and worked in mixed practice in South Wales for three years. She then moved to a dedicated farm animal practice in the South West of England working with dairy and beef herds and a variety of large commercial sheep flocks and smallholder hobby flocks. She now works with sheep flocks across the UK at Flock Health Ltd. Sheep health, production and welfare has always been a special interest both in her career as a large animal veterinary surgeon and as a sheep farmer. Together with her husband Sam, they farm 350 commercial breeding ewes on a tenanted farm in Gloucestershire.
Kim Hamer was brought up by a rural vet on the Welsh borders, as such has always been surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes. Since becoming a vet herself Kim has developed a keen interest in the health and welfare of sheep, has gained Advanced Practitioner status in this area and become involved in the Sheep Veterinary Society.
