A defining manual on using creativity as a tool for empowerment and allowing your personal identity to live in and guide all parts of your life, Kevin Morosky shares stories and inspiration from the women who have most influenced his creative path and explores the ways we can pursue success by implementing their wisdom in all aspects of our lives.
Find joy in your work and life with this creative manual where every part of you is welcome. Culture isnβt a science; it is literal magic. You have to live in it. You have to breathe itβ¦
Film Auteur and Chief Creative Officer, Kevin Morosky, invites the women he considers his most trusted advisors, closest friends, and biggest inspirations to explore how their impact shapes culture and nourishes society. Through a series of conversations which consider the themes of resilience, patience, autonomy, focus, identity, communication, Kevin shares how their collective teachings and support has helped shape his own life and creative path.
Drawing upon his own experiences in the creative industry across advertising, photography, film and art, Kevin invites you to find your own identity, empowering you to bring 100% of yourself into the room β not just the 30% thatβs deemed βpalatableβ by those already in it. Centring the Black women who always support him, Kevin and his friends, family and mentors reflect on what it takes to authentically achieve your creative freedom. This book is about really admiring and revelling in the magic Black women always bring to the table, a magic that benefits us all.
This is both Kevinβs love letter to Black women, and a revolt against tired, status-quo thinking around creativity and advertising.

About the Author
Kevin Morosky's career began in film photography, with work published in Dazed, ID, and Vogue to name just a few. Aware of the fact he was often brought onto projects as a diversity hire with little creative say, Kevin worked to get on the other side of the ad industry. He quickly became known for pursuing authentic storytelling that felt inclusive and insightful, challenging the norms of the industry. As well as co-founding Pocc, a Black British Business Awards-nominated creative network that champions Black and Brown voices, Kevin was also Jury President of the D&AD New Blood Awards 2021.
