This book traces his eccentric and vibrant life, filled with encounters and artistic partnerships with some of the most celebrated creatives of his time, including Jean-Michel Frank, Christian Dior, Gabrielle Chanel, Jean Cocteau, and Boris Kochno. It repositions Bérard at the heart of the Parisian art world in the 1930s and 1940s.

The monograph presents more than two hundred of his paintings, drawings, photographs, intimate correspondences, and interior decorations. It also features portraits of Bérard captured by renowned photographers like Cartier Bresson, Horst, and Schall.
