See moreHow your naturally changing brain can become your superpower.
One night you launch a bowl of spaghetti bolognese across the kitchen in a rage. You lie awake at 3 am, mind and heart racing for no reason. Mid-sentence, a word you have used your entire life just vanishes. You don't feel like yourself and wonder, Who the hell am I? If this is you, know you are not broken and you are not losing your mind - you are in transition.
Dr Jennifer Hacker Pearson - PhD neuroscientist, psychotherapist, meditation teacher and bolognese launcher - spent decades studying the brain, yet perimenopause still blindsided her. What she discovered in the research changed everything. Far from failing, your perimenopausal brain is in one of the most sensitive, adaptable states of your life. It isn't breaking down. It's remodelling itself and opening an opportunity for a remarkable upgrade.
In The Unexpected Gift of Menopause, Dr Jen offers a bold and hopeful reframing of this misunderstood transition. She calls it menovescence - your next powerful becoming, much like adolescence. Drawing on cutting-edge science and her own honest, often funny story, she reveals how you can harness your naturally changing brain and consciously direct who you become throughout your menopause transition.
This is not a book about merely surviving the storm. It's an invitation to steer straight through it - guided by science and practical tools - towards greater clarity, confidence, and feeling like your truest, most authentic self.
