Factfulness Illustrated

'A hopeful book about the potential for human progress when we work off facts rather than our inherent biases.' BARACK OBAMA

The international best-selling phenomenon loved by BARACK OBAMA and BILL GATES in a new and updated illustrated edition:

Factfulness Illustrated illuminates the world through data and facts, challenging commonly held misconceptions and offering a hopeful perspective on global progress. This insightful work by Hans Rosling, Ola Rosling, and Anna Rosling Rönnlund is not just a book; it's a tool for understanding the reality of our world, away from bias and pessimism.

Imagine a world where your biggest fears about global trends are consistently proven wrong by facts. In Factfulness Illustrated, the authors demonstrate that despite common beliefs, the world is actually progressing better than we think. By answering fundamental questions about population growth, education for young women, and global poverty, the authors reveal that our perceptions are often gravely distorted. They show how even a chimpanzee picking answers at random can outguess the best-educated professionals, including journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

In this beautifully illustrated edition, Hans, Anna, and Ola Rosling provide a groundbreaking explanation of the ten instincts that distort our perspective, such as fear, size, and generalisation, which make us incorrectly believe that things are worse than they actually are. These instincts lead us to embrace dramatic but often incorrect views of the world. Through compelling anecdotes, detailed data visualisations, and moving stories, the authors make the case for adopting a fact-based worldview.

Factfulness Illustrated encourages readers to cultivate the habit of basing opinions only on robust supporting facts, a mindset that can reduce stress and foster a more positive outlook on global development. The authors argue that by embracing facts, we maintain our ability to focus on problems that actually threaten us and can work together more effectively for a positive change.

This special edition, graced with engaging illustrations, makes the data more accessible and the messages even more impactful. It is not only informative but also a joy to read, appealing to a broad audience from data enthusiasts to casual readers.
