Neil, The Amazing Sea Cucumber
With deadpan text by Amelia McInerney and hilarious illustrations by Lucinda Gifford, this is a fabulous story about an unlikely hero who is very surprised to find himself in this book: a sea cucumber named Neil.
Hello. I'm Neil. I'm a sea cucumber. It's a bit strange that I'm the star of this book. Usually, books are about the cool sea creatures. And I'm boring, even for a sea cucumber.
Nothing exciting ever happens to me. At least, it hasn't before now...
With deadpan text and hilarious illustrations, this is a fabulous story about a very unlikely hero and one epic adventure.
Neil, The Amazing Sea Cucumber by Amelia McInerney, Amelia Tonta, and Luci offers a unique glimpse into the life of a rather remarkable sea cucumber on an unexpected journey.

About the Author
Amelia McInerney has three kids, two chickens and a hermit crab. Born and raised in Melbourne, she now lives in Canberra where she spends her days writing kids' books, staring out the window thinking about kids' books, and occasionally just plain staring out the window. Amelia's first picture book, The Book Chook, was a CBCA Notable Book 2020 and shortlisted for Speech Pathology Australia's Picture Book of the Year. Her other books include Bad Crab, My Bird Bertie, Who Fed Zed? and Mary Had a Little Lamb: What Really Happened.
Lucinda is a hard working illustrator who has drawn the pictures for over 40 books, as well as for lots of websites, videos and posters. She has been drawing since she was a toddler in Scotland, when her teacher marvelled at her unusually terrifying sketches of witches. Now Lucinda lives in Melbourne and has a marvellous job where she gets to draw every day. Lucinda's favourite things to draw are castles, cavemen and creatures with big teeth or tentacles.
