A Load of Bull

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

A Load of Bull by Amanda King is a captivating photographic journey that showcases the extraordinary beauty and diverse personalities of cattle. This stunning book compiles Amanda's favourite prints and succinctly arranges them by breeds such as Angus, Belted Galloway, Bison, Brahman, Charolais, Friesian, Hereford, Highland, Jersey, Limousin, Murray Grey, Red Devon, Shorthorn, Speckle Park, Texas Longhorn, Wagyu, White Galloway, and Zebu. Each photograph captures the unique essence of these magnificent animals, revealing their strength, grace, and distinct characteristics.

Amanda King grew up in Brisbane, Australia, and like many young Australasians, she embarked on her Overseas Experience (OE). During her travels, she encountered a Kiwi farmer and decided to settle on a picturesque farm in Canterbury, New Zealand. It was here that her love for country life flourished, and her passion for photography blossomed from a casual hobby into a thriving business.

Initially, Amanda used photography to capture fleeting moments and preserve them for eternity. Her journey as a professional photographer began when she created a large wall print for her living room, featuring a striking Highland cow. This compelling image became the centrepiece of her home and caught the attention of her friends, who soon began requesting similar pieces.

Motivated by this interest, Amanda set out to photograph more rural animals and shared her work on a dedicated Facebook page. The response was overwhelming; her images resonated with so many people, transforming her passion into a full-time career.

In A Load of Bull, Amanda not only shares her exquisite photographs, but also the stories behind them. She provides intriguing anecdotes about the individual animals, their unique personalities, and the challenges and triumphs of each photo shoot. The result is a vivid, engaging exploration of farm life that is both visually stunning and emotionally enriching.

This book is a celebration of rural beauty and the intimate connections Amanda has formed with these remarkable creatures. Whether you are a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or someone who simply appreciates the charm of farm animals, A Load of Bull offers an enchanting look into the world of cattle through the lens of a talented and passionate photographer.
