How do the world's best athletes combat ageing, and what can you do to keep up?

Sports are about challenging our physical limits. However, the greatest limit of all remains undefeated—age. We're taught to believe that ageing thwarts effort and grace, talent and grit, outstanding teamwork, and individual brilliance.

But a new breed of top professionals—such as Roger Federer, Jo Pavey, and Tom Brady—are overturning long-held assumptions about the duration of primetime in a sporting career. It's not that ageing causes a decline in fitness; rather, a decline in fitness causes ageing.

Jeff Bercovici steps inside the lives of these ageless athletes, following them as they train, compete, and recover, to dispel conventional wisdom about longevity. Full of cutting-edge science, technology, and practical tips, Play On empowers you to reverse the ageing process and extend your peak years.

About the Author

Jeff Bercovici is a journalist, sports fan and athlete, very much in that order. A former senior editor at Forbes, Jeff has also written for Playboy, GQ, Details, Glamour and The New York Times, and appeared as an expert commentator on NBC, CBS and CNN, amongst others. He is now Inc. magazine's San Francisco Bureau Chief, where he writes about the frontiers of human performance and the technology that enhances it.
