Book Hero Magic created this recommendation. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! IS THIS YOUR NEXT READ?
The first-ever retrospective of the master of American sports cartooning.
Willard Mullin's Golden Age Of Baseball collects Mullin's best drawings devoted to baseball for the first time. These illustrations depict iconic players such as Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Yogi Berra, and Sandy Koufax. The book also features legendary managers like Cast Stengel and George Steinbrenner, as well as significant events like Lou Gehrig's emotional retirement speech on July 4, 1939.
Mullin's fluid line and delicate yet vigorous brushwork are showcased beautifully, with many drawings reproduced from original artwork. This collection offers a vivid portrayal of baseball's rich history through Mullin's distinctive artistic style.
