View from the Back Row is a poignant and heartwarming novel that explores the overlooked lives of students with Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) in an elementary school classroom. At the back of the room, where the "slow" students are often sent, these children are forgotten by both their teachers and the administration, left to struggle in silence. But within this quiet corner, a miracle is about to unfold.

Andy, a gifted student with a unique perspective on the world, sits at the back row, where he's often dismissed by those around him. Unlike the others, Andy sees potential where others see failure. With his extraordinary ability to connect, inspire, and challenge the norm, Andy quietly begins to change the lives of his classmates, teachers, and even the school itself. Through his insights and compassion, he brings healing to those who've been overlooked for far too long.

In this moving tale of resilience and transformation, View from the Back Row is a celebration of the power of one person to ignite change. It reminds us that even in the most unlikely places, extraordinary things can happenβ€”sometimes, all it takes is a different perspective.

Through Andy's journey, we witness the triumph of spirit, the importance of seeing potential beyond labels, and the beauty of a miracle that begins quietly from the back row.

About the Author

Andy Godby grew up in Earlham, Iowa on a century farm family. He has held many different careers as a farm mechanic, Chaplain for death row, Special Education teacher, and now a Commercial truck driver. He loves riding his motorcycle and once enjoyed skydiving.

Andy Godby was chaplain at Sussex 1 State Prison in 1998 and 1999 where he witnessed a total of 27 executions. In 1997, he earned a master's degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and gained his experience as a prison chaplain. At seminary the fundamentalist movement was coming on strong. Andy's long hair, Harley Davidson motorcycle and bold approach to life just did not blend with this movement. Behind the bars and razor wire of Luther Luckett and Sussex I prisons, he found friendship, men that he respected and learned about life from men who had theirs's taken from them. He also has two grown children, Amy and Joshua.
