Tone Vigeland

Jewelry - Objects - Sculpture
Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Scandinavian studio jewellery is simply unimaginable without Tone Vigeland (b. 1938) and her work. This book showcases around 150 jewellery objects made between 1958 and 2010, highlighting Vigeland's pioneering creativity. Her distinctive pieces flatter the human body and captivate with their dimensions and volume, despite being composed of tiny handcrafted components such as tubes of silver wire, precisely cut plates, spheres, and eyelets. Known for her use of heavily oxidised, almost iron-black silver and steel, her art is highly aesthetic, perfectly executed, and always wearable. The publication also includes a selection of objects and sculptures from 1998 onwards, displayed here for the first time alongside the jewellery.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Scandinavian studio jewellery is simply unimaginable without Tone Vigeland (b.1938) and her work. Her distinctive objects flatter the human body and captivate through their dimensions and volume, yet they are assembled from the tiniest hand-crafted components.

Tubes of silver wire, precisely cut plates, spheres and eyelets, all in small scale, are invisibly interconnected. Vigeland's use of heavily oxidised, almost iron-black silver and steel is a typical feature. The result: art on the human body - highly aesthetic, perfectly executed and always wearable.

Around 150 jewellery objects from 1958 to 2010 document Tone Vigeland's pioneering creativity. They are complemented with a selection of objects and sculptures from 1998 to the present day, which can now be seen in an exhibition and publication for the very first time.
