See moreA powerful collection of essays about medical missions to Gaza that is both testimony and resistance, and a tribute to the outstanding work of volunteer medical staff abroad.
The Weight of Witness brings together the voices of Australian and New Zealand healthcare workers who have served in Gaza during the ongoing genocide, preserving frontline testimonies of courage, grief, humanity and resistance in the face of Israel’s devastation.
This book bears witness to the horror and trauma that the people of Gaza have endured and to the deliberate destruction of the healthcare system – and pays tribute to the enduring spirit of the Palestinian people.

She is a medical mission coordinator with the Palestinian Australian and New Zealand Medical Association (PANZMA); serves as the Victorian Membership Engagement and Events Lead for the Australian Islamic Medical Association (AIMA); and is a faculty instructor for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and regularly teaches surgical trainees and medical students.
