The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher is a phenomenal, heart-warming bestseller. The story follows artist's daughter Penelope Keeling as she reflects on a full and varied life, featuring a Bohemian childhood in London and Cornwall, an unhappy wartime marriage, and the one man she truly loved.

Penelope has raised three children and learned to accept them as they are. Despite her age, she remains energetic and independent, far from settling sweetly into pensioned-off old age. The narrative unfolds as she discovers that her most treasured possession, her father's painting, The Shell Seekers, is now worth a small fortune.

Facing this revelation, Penelope must make critical decisions that will determine whether her family can continue to thrive as a unit, or if they will be split apart by the painting's newfound value.
