The Man the Anzacs Revered by Daniel Reynaud tells the story of William McKenzie, a once-famous figure among the Anzacs, celebrated for his dedicated work on Gallipoli and in France.

McKenzie served as a Salvation Army Chaplain, a type of non-combatant officer who was usually regarded with little respect. Despite this, McKenzie's strong stance against booze, brothels, betting, and bad language did not deter him from becoming revered by the soldiers, as well as by many on the home front.
