About the Author

Elle Hervin is a writer and content creator who has turned her passion for interior design and decorating into a full-time job following the success of her interiors-based Instagram account @elle_the_home_bird, which has attracted more than 978k followers. It is here that she showcases her distinctive decorating style, incorporating vintage and modern decor, along with innovative and creative design which has transformed an ordinary house into a beautiful yet practical family home. Elle's social media accounts regularly attract over 5 million views every month and her most popular project, the 'home library', has had more than 10 million views.

Elle has always had a love of interior design, but it became a transformative part of her life after she suffered PTSD following the traumatic birth of her third son, in which she nearly lost her life. A passion for thrifting and sourcing second-hand and vintage homewares became a kind of therapy and helped Elle overcome trauma. She is a huge advocate for creating spaces which are not only reflective of the homeowner as a person, but which also bring about feelings of joy in every single room.

Elle has worked on interior styling campaigns with a plethora of big-name home and lifestyle brands, including Ikea, Next, Laura Ashley, Le Creuset, Habitat and Barker & Stonehouse. The Home Bird is her first book.
