The EC line of comics shook up the 1950s, and the shocking audacity of their stories drew the scrutiny of Congress and the eventual creation of the Comics Code, effectively killing EC.

But the stories live on, and EC Archives: Tales from the Crypt Volume 4 offers more infamous tales of fear, bloodshed, and the paranormal written by Al Feldstein and William Gaines and illustrated by Jack Davis, Graham Ingels, Jack Kamen, George Evans, Joe Orlando, and Marie Severin.

This value-priced softcover collects Tales from the Crypt issues #35–#40, including the original stories, ads, text pieces, and letters. Foreword by eminent EC historian and publisher Russ Cochran.

Foul Play and Other Stories

When Jack Davis took up his pen for EC Comics, he imbued his stories with a playful sense of (gallows) humour that made his innocent victims more eye-poppingly terrified, his ax-murders more gleefully gruesome, and his revenge-seeking corpses more morbidly motivated than any other EC artist. These horror and suspense tales—from the pages of Vault of Horror, Haunt of Fear,...

The Bitter End and Other Stories

Reed Crandall was an undisputed master of fine line detail and expertly nuanced pen-and-ink texture. He was a perfect fit for EC Comics, and he brilliantly illuminated sharp scripts featuring schemes, tricks, betrayal, and retribution in the company's crime, horror, and science fiction titles. This volume features 22 Crandall favourites from the pages of Tales From the Crypt, Vault of...

The Planetoid and Other Stories

Joe Orlando partnered early with Wallace Wood on a variety of science fiction comics, including several for EC Comics. But he quickly made a name for himself and struck out on his own, carving out a long and distinguished career in American comics. Orlando became a mainstay at EC, especially on science fiction, and The Planetoid and Other Stories collects...

Three for the Money and Other Stories

Grand Master crime novelist Max Allan Collins (Road to Perdition) introduces these tales, which include the infamous "The Orphan" - one of the stories that got EC Comics into hot water during the U.S. Senate's investigation into comic books. Kamen's Kalamity And Other Stories

Jack Kamen's stories for The Vault of Horror, Tales From the Crypt, and The Haunt of Fear favoured unnerving creepiness over gruesome shock. With his penchant for deft delineations of scheming women, jealous husbands, murderous love triangles, and not-so-innocent children, Kamen's pen laid down a precise, sure line that brought each story's shock ending into sharp relief. This volume features...

Zero Hour and Other Stories

With his wholesome approach, Jack Kamen stood out amongst the grunge, gritty realism or futuristic dazzle of his fellow EC cartoonists. However, his brilliant editor/writer Al Feldstein found a way to exploit the surface innocence of his style with seemingly nice stories of romance gone horribly wrong or future fantasies with an unexpectedly brutal twist. Zero Hour and Other Stories...
