The Burnt Stick
This is the story of an aboriginal boy's life and his struggle to decide where he belongs and how to cope with a society that doesn't understand and doesn't tolerate.
The Burnt Stick by Anthony Hill tells the story of John Jagamarra, who grew up at the Pearl Bay Mission for Aboriginal children in the far north-west. While it was beautiful there, it wasn't home.
This narrative is a tale for everyone about the pain of separation and the strength of the human spirit.
