About the Author
Dr Linda Tyler is an associate professor at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland. She is the former curator of the art collection at the Waikato Museum of Art and History, and then curator of the pictorial collection at the Hocken Library. She has taught art and design history and curation at the University of Canterbury, Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, the University of Waikato Te Whare WΔnanga o Waikato and now atΒ the University of Auckland.
Haru Sameshima was born in Shizuoka City, Japan, and immigrated to New Zealand in 1973. He completed an MFA (1995) at Elam School of Fine Arts, Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland. Haru has exhibited and published widely in New Zealand, and his images illustrate some of New Zealandβs most significant art and craft publications. He has his own publishing imprint, Rim Books, and runs his Auckland studio, Studio La Gonda, in partnership withΒ Mark Adams.
Jane Ussher MNZM is one of New Zealandβs most lauded photographers. Perhaps best known for her photographs for the Listener, her photographs have also appeared in the high-profile, award-winning books Coast, Islands, Worship, The New Zealand Horse, Endless Sea, Nature β Stilled, Historic New Zealand Homesteads,Β Rooms, Woolsheds and Olveston.Β
