Sarah and Simon and No Red Paint tells the delightful story of Sarah and Simon who live with their father, mother, and baby brother in a large room called a studio. Their father, an artist, is busy working on his masterpiece. The family is poor but happy, and they believe that once the masterpiece is finished, they will become rich and famous.

The story takes a turn when their father runs out of red paint, and there is no money to buy more. Determined to help, Sarah and Simon embark on an adventure to find the elusive paint.

Edward Ardizzone, the acclaimed master of children's book illustration (1900-79), employs all his artistic skills in this classic and endearing tale, which has been unavailable for over forty years.
