For nearly forty years, Peter Skrzynecki has published poetry that explores the assimilation of post-war immigrants in Australia, chronicling their struggle for identity and acceptance into mainstream society. His poems are elegiac, meditative, and lyrical—intimately concerned with the Australian landscape, its people, fauna, and flora, as well as family, human relationships, and art.
Old/New World: Selected Poems contains a generous selection of poems from his eight previous books, including Immigrant Chronicle and a new section, Blood Plums.
