Nina Beier: Works
Nina Beier: Works showcases Nina Beier's internationally acknowledged artistic practice, presented across a variety of environments, from museums to public realms. Her works are distinguished by a thoughtful use of found objects, commodities, social habits, and routines. Beier deftly manipulates and recontextualises these elements within her sculptures and performances to examine global power dynamics, value, and representation.
This fully illustrated volume provides readers with an in-depth understanding of Beier's multifaceted career. It includes a selection of existing writings by key collaborators and newly commissioned texts that further contextualise the central concerns and motivations in Beier's broader practice, exhibition history, and choice of materials.
With extensive survey exhibitions culminating in 2024 at CAPC musΓ©e d'art contemporain, Bordeaux; KIASMA Museum, Helsinki; and Museo Tamayo, Mexico City, now is a significant time to publish a survey of Nina Beier's work. This edition represents the first elaborate monograph to date.
