Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Marius Glauer explores the intersection of photography and sculpture, challenging traditional definitions of photography through his innovative sculptural-based images. His work transforms glittering surfaces, objets trouvΓ©s, and flowers into hyperreal, three-dimensional assemblages that question the translation of reality into a two-dimensional medium. This monograph offers a comprehensive view of Glauer's experimental oeuvre spanning a decade, accompanied by insightful texts that contextualise his creations within social and art-historical discussions.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Marius Glauer focuses his attention on the borderline between photography and sculpture. With his sculptural-based photography, he traverses the entire material and discursive range of what can be considered photography today. Glauer's camera takes an intimate and revealing look at his protagonists: glittering surfaces, objets trouvΓ©s and flowers become hyperreal actors or monumental facades.

As expansive, three-dimensional assemblages, his works simultaneously question the translatability of the world into the two-dimensional medium of photography. This monograph is the first to provide detailed insights into the artist's experimental oeuvre and presents the groups of works he produced over the course of the last decade.

Concise texts accompany and position his oeuvre in the social and art-historical discourse.
