Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Jonas Höschl (Bilingual edition) explores the complex relationship between media framing and image perception. Through a media-reflexive artistic practice, the work questions how editorial choices shape our understanding of global events, and whether truly objective coverage is possible. It draws on insights from theorists, artists, and authors to examine the fragile nature of contemporary social realities and the impact of media on public consciousness.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Through which framing do we perceive images? How does their reception change depending on editorial decisions? How comprehensively is our perception of global events influenced by their media treatment? Which contextualisation comes closest to what is actually happening? Can there be objective coverage?

Raising questions like these—posed by art historian and photography theorist Mira Anneli Naß—rather than presenting answers, is a key to Jonas Höschl's artistic practice. Based on his media-reflexive work, the artist gathers perspectives of numerous theorists, artists, as well as authors dealing with media-theoretical questions in our increasingly fragile present that make our social inflammations and injuries painfully tangible.
