Insomniacs After School, Vol. 2 by Makoto Ojiro continues the tale of two sleepless teenagers who find solace in each other's company as they escape to their school's astronomy observatory.

Unable to sleep at night, Ganta Nakami becomes irritable in class and struggles with his popularity among classmates. In search of the perfect nap spot, he discovers the school observatory, once the domain of the now-defunct astronomy club. However, he isn't the only one seeking refuge there. Fellow insomniac, Isaki Magari, is also looking for a place to rest and is willing to share the observatory with Nakami. This shared experience marks the beginning of an unexpected friendship as they bond over their late-night awakenings and shared secrets.

Faced with the school's mandate for their reformed astronomy club to function as a proper club, the insomniacs find themselves in a predicament. Neither Nakami, now the club’s president, nor the appointed adviser know anything about astronomy. In a stroke of luck, they encounter Yui Shiromaru, a former prize-winning astrophotographer who has since become the manager of a small-town video arcade. Shiromaru might just be the guide they need to keep their clubβ€”and their newfound friendshipβ€”alive.
