Three kids, one dream and no idea! An adventure in eight courses.

Food, family and a little bit of fame. This book has them all.

In July 2023, Gyton and his wife, Alex, moved halfway across the world with their three kids under seven to live in Sardinia for eighteen months. They did what most people would only do in their wildest dreams.

What Gyton embarked on was indeed ambitious, maybe a little crazy. He knew it wouldn't be all idyllic beaches, romantic laneways, and the world's best food. He knew they'd face challenges, hurdles, and probably stumble along the way. What he didn't know was how turbulent, yet enriching, their Italian adventures would be.

Il Dolce Fiasco tells the inspiring and very funny story of this rollercoaster ride through the chaos, the community and, most importantly, the cooking!

'A grand tale of food and family, full of heart and humour. Best of all, it took me back to Italy. Ciao bello! I loved every page.' Kate Langbroek

'A beautiful celebration of family, fresh starts and the courage to say yes to life's biggest adventures.' Pia Miranda

'Gyton captures the highs, the frustrations, the unexpected challenges and the moments of magic that come with embracing a new life, with warmth, humour and a refreshing self-awareness. It is a love letter to Italy in all its glorious contradictions: the beauty, the chaos, the generosity and all the things that drive you insane if you live there long enough. At its heart, this is a story about family, friendship and curiosity. An honest reminder that the greatest adventures are rarely the ones that go to plan, but the ones that change us along the way.' Silvia Colloca
