Elvie the Exceptional City Sheep is inspired by the true story of Elvie, a much-loved sheep who really did live in the Pollock family’s backyard in Kilbirnie. She really did escape from home and attend Kilbirnie School’s Pet Day – just not quite like this!

The story also features familiar faces from the school community, including staff and student Tilly, who lived on the same street as Elvie, along with characters inspired by organisations that have supported author Colleen Brown throughout her writing journey.

Above all, Elvie was an ‘Exceptional City Sheep’.
