Ellie Mae Dreams Big!
Ellie Mae's mind swirls with ideas when her teacher asks, What do you want to be when you grow up?
Ellie Mae Dreams Big! marks the picture book debut of New York Times best-selling novelist Kristina McMorris, offering a delightful exploration of a young girl's journey to answer the age-old question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
This charming story is the result of a collaboration between Kristina McMorris and award-winning artist Amanda Yoshida. Together, they spin a tale that encourages imagination and dreams that are anything but ordinary.
When faced with her teacher's all-important question, Ellie Mae's mind is a whirlwind of possibilities. Should she be an astronaut or a chef? Perhaps both, as an astronaut-chef! Imagining the moon as a giant ball of cheese, she dreams of making galactic grilled-cheese sandwiches that would be renowned throughout the universe. Or maybe she could grace the stage as a 'ballerina-painter', creating awe-inspiring artworks as she twirls across the stage.
Ellie Mae's imagination runs wild with choices, leaving her overwhelmed by the sheer number of possibilities until she finally discovers an answer that surprises not only her classmates but also the reader.

About the Author
Kristina McMorris (Author) Kristina McMorris is a New York Times bestselling author of two novellas and six novels, including the runaway bestseller Sold on a Monday. Initially inspired by her grandparents' WWII courtship letters, her works of fiction have garnered more than twenty national literary awards. Prior to her writing career, she owned a wedding-and-event planning company until she had far surpassed her limit of YMCA and chicken dances. She also worked as a weekly TV-show host for Warner Bros. and an ABC affiliate, beginning at age nine with an Emmy Award-winning program. A graduate of Pepperdine University, she lives near Portland, Oregon, where (ironically) she's entirely deficient of a green thumb and doesn't own a single umbrella. Amanda Yoshida (Illustrator) AMANDA YOSHIDA attended Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Los Angeles and went on to work for several years as a 3D artist and graphic designer. She lives with her family in Portland, Oregon.
