Diverse Transnational Care explores the varying transnational care practices and the disparities in their availability. By drawing on interviews with migrants' parents in Bolivia, this book examines the circumstances faced by the elderly in one of the poorest countries in Latin America, and analyses the diverse care practices engaged in by migrants and their families.

The findings highlight the influence of socio-economic differences, migration regimes, and the provision of health and social services on transnational care practices. The authors argue that socio-economic disparities significantly affect the way in which transnational care is practised.

Furthermore, the book reveals how some parents can leverage their children's migrations to secure a better position, while others endure extreme levels of vulnerability.
