With Francis' help, you'll discover the professional storytelling techniques that have captivated generations of moviegoers and kept them coming back for more.
You'll also learn to spot potential problems before they cost you time or money, and you'll be offered creative solutions to solve them. Best of all, it practices what it preaches, using a graphic novel format to demonstrate the professional visual storytelling techniques you need to know.
Directing the Story uses the classic story of 1001 Arabian Nights to show how to storyboard stories that will engage an audience's attention and emotions. With 1001 drawings in graphic novel format, plus teaching concepts and commentary, this book provides a rich resource for learning. All of the storyboarding examples are set within a real project context to engage a visual audience on their own terms and teach through demonstration.
