Designing with Creo Parametric 7.0

Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Designing with Creo Parametric 7.0 introduces high school and college students, as well as practising engineers, to 3D modelling using PTC's Creo Parametric software. Presented in a clear tutorial format, it combines engineering design fundamentals with practical exercises at the end of each chapter. The book emphasises design intent and links concepts from engineering subjects like statics and dynamics to real-world CAD applications, helping readers enhance their creative skills and effectively communicate ideas visually.

Core topics include mastering Creo Parametric features, dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly design, family tables for similar parts, and an introduction to Creo Simulate and Finite Element Analysis. Richly illustrated with screen shots, this text requires no prior engineering degree, making it accessible to a broad audience.

This book provides the high school student, college student, or practicing engineer with a basic introduction to engineering design while learning the 3D modeling Computer-Aided Design software called Creo Parametric from PTC.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

Designing with Creo Parametric 7.0 provides the high school student, college student, or practising engineer with a basic introduction to engineering design while learning the 3D modelling Computer-Aided Design software called Creo Parametric from PTC. The topics are presented in a tutorial format with exercises at the end of each chapter to reinforce the concepts covered. It is richly illustrated with computer screenshots throughout. Above all, this text is designed to help you expand your creative talents and communicate your ideas through the graphics language.

Because it is easier to learn new information if you have a reason for learning it, this textbook discusses design intent while you are learning Creo Parametric. At the same time, it shows how knowledge covered in basic engineering courses such as statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and design of mechanical components can be applied to design. You do not need an engineering degree nor be working toward a degree in engineering to use this textbook. Although FEA (Finite Element Analysis) is used in this textbook, its theory is not covered.

The first two chapters of this book describe the design process. The core content of this text, learning the basic Creo Parametric software, is found in Chapters three through six. Chapters seven, eight, and twelve deal with dimensioning and tolerancing an engineering part. Chapters nine and ten deal with assemblies and assembly drawings. Chapter eleven deals with family tables used when similar parts are to be designed or used. Chapter thirteen is an introduction to Creo Simulate and FEA.
