Darkness and Demon Song
A twelve-year-old cemetery boy turned monster hunter must race against time to save his recently resurrected mother in this chilling children's series.
A cemetery-boy-turned-monster-hunter must race against time to save his recently-resurrected mother in M.R. Fournet's eerie middle grade follow up to Brick Dust and Bones, perfect for fans of R.L. Stine and Wednesday.
Darkness and Demon Song by M.R. Fournet explores a gripping tale where Marius Grey's mom is back from the dead. After dedicating himself to hunting monsters and performing forbidden spells, Marius is simply happy she's there, helping him care for their Louisiana cemetery once again.
However, it soon becomes evident that something has gone awry. Marius's mother becomes increasingly distant, and strange occurrences start happening around her. Even more unsettling, there are moments when it seems she is a completely different personβone who is certainly not his mum.
To save her, Marius realises he needs serious help. Fortunately, he has a flesh-eating mermaid as a best friend and a classmate endowed with extra-strong magic. Along with mysterious clues for new hunts, graveyard-hopping from Louisiana to Texas, and the assistance of a tough ex-hunter whom he isn't sure he can trust, it's clear Marius has his work cut out for him.

About the Author
M. R. Fournet's ties to New Orleans are part of her own origin story. As as kid, she would go fishing in south Louisiana and eat crawfish with her family in Houma. She has always been fascinated by the myths and legends of New Orleans. When not writing, she is a professional artist, belly dancer, and autism mom. She now lives in Texas with her husband, son, and ungrateful cat.
