Description
Dark Horse by Felix Francis follows Imogen Duffy, a young Irish jockey whose fledgling career is given a huge boost when she wins a prestigious horse race at the Cheltenham Steeplechasing Festival. However, all is not well in her life. She has a violent and controlling boyfriend, also a jockey, who becomes increasingly jealous of her success. As a result, she tries to break off their relationship, but he won't take 'no' for an answer. He attacks her, claiming he'd rather kill her than allow her to leave him.
Imogen flees her home in Ireland, seeking refuge in England to continue her riding career at a racing stable in Lambourn, where she finds increasing success. Yet, the abusive boyfriend follows her across the Irish Sea, stalks her, steals from her, and attacks her again, then tries to ruin her career and reputation.
Imogen's desperate father turns to Sid Halley for help. Sid reluctantly agrees to investigate but soon finds himself also being stalked and threatened. Can Sid uncover what is happening before it is too late?

About the Author
A New York Times, Sunday Times and international bestseller, acclaimed author, Felix Francis, was born in Oxford, England, son of the famous mystery author, Dick Francis and his wife, Mary. Felix graduated from London University with a Bachelor of Science degree. His initial career led him into physics, where he was a successful teacher of A Level Physics for 17 years, becoming head of the science department at Bloxham School. Felix next went into business, spending 13 years as a company director and deputy chairman of World Challenge Expeditions Ltd. But he could not deny that his family's gift of writing had been passed along to him, so in 2005, he started his third career - as an author. His many other accomplishments include being an expert outdoorsman, marksman and pilot. He lives in rural Northamptonshire with his wife, Debbie, and their dogs, who are the ones really in charge!
