Coming Out Perfect #1 (A Graphic Novel) explores the complexities of coming out. Kevin, a young Filipino, decides to come out to his parents anticipating some sort of drama. However, he is surprised when they simply ignore him, choosing instead to favour his older and more successful sister.

Feeling overlooked both at home and at school, Kevin seizes the opportunity to reinvent himself after meeting Raymond, the most popular—and seemingly perfect—gay kid at his high school. Raymond offers to take Kevin under his wing and show him how to be popular, making life suddenly appear much brighter.

However, perfection comes at a cost. As Raymond's 'pet project,' Kevin finds himself under pressure to meet demanding expectations. He must dress and act in a certain way, necessitating the abandonment of his supposedly 'uncool' friends. This leads him to question whether changing who he is is worth becoming something he is not.
