Charlie Eyre was a sailor aboard the Dundonald, which was wrecked on Disappointment Island in 1907, deep in the Southern Ocean. This book tells the true story of how he and 13 of his shipmates endured starvation, brutal storms and perilous ocean crossings before they were fi nally rescued. Theirs is one of New Zealand’s greatest survival stories, an unforgettable tale of courage, hardship and determination.
