A hilarious and moving road trip around Iceland in an old car, told by a recently divorced woman with a five year-old boy 'on loan '.
In a dark Icelandic November, the narrator experiences her husband leaving without a word of warning. At the same time, her best friend entrusts her with the care of her deaf mute five-year-old son. In an attempt to regain control, she embarks on a road trip around Iceland with the little man.
Along the journey, she encounters numerous adventures and has various encounters, all hilariously narrated. These include meeting a Latvian orchestra, dealing with an intrusive mother, and facing a slew of exes trying to make a comeback.
Butterflies in November is a light-hearted, extremely funny, and deeply moving story about a woman on a journey of recovery from missed motherhood and unsuccessful relationships.
