Summary

Brenda Is a Sheep is a heart-warming and mischievous tale by Morag Hood about Brenda, a sheep who is quite different from her fluffy friends. With sharp pointy teeth and cool grey fur, Brenda is much snazzier than the rest, but she doesn’t much like grass. As her hunger grows, she starts plotting an unusual feast, leading to a humorous twist on the classic wolf-in-sheep's-clothing story that explores acceptance and friendship within the flock.

Description

Brenda Is a Sheep is a massively mischievous and heart-warming story about being accepted, from Morag Hood, the creator of The Steves, I Am Bat, Aalfred and Aalbert, and author of Sophie Johnson: Unicorn Expert.

Brenda says she is a sheep, but why does she look so different from her fluffy friends?

All the sheep adore Brenda. With her sharp pointy teeth and cool grey fur, she's the snazziest sheep around. But Brenda is also very hungry and doesn't much like the taste of grass... she soon begins plotting the most delicious feast of all. But will the sheep notice that Brenda isn't quite the same as them?

A hilarious twist on the classic wolf-in-sheep's-clothing fable.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Critics praise Morag Hood's Brenda Is a Sheep for its clever, suspenseful narrative and bold four-colour illustrations. The Guardian calls it a "delightfully deadpan" fable about a wolf disguised among sheep, while BookTrust highlights its perfect blend of humour and striking artwork suited for 3- and 4-year-olds.
