Description

A sweeping YA time-slip romance where love bridges a century, but history threatens to tear it apart.

When Sage, a first-year university student, discovers a forgotten camera in the library archives, she’s thrust into a world beyond her own time. The camera links her to August, a student who walked the same halls more than a century earlier. What begins as a miraculous connection soon deepens into something neither of them expected.

However, history has a way of pulling people apart—and as WWI looms for August, the closer they grow, the more impossible it seems to hold on.

Aperture captures the essence of time, love, and the struggles of keeping a connection alive amidst the impending tides of history.

About the Author

Kirsten Thompson is a Pacific Northwest–based writer and editor whose work blends sharp wit, social commentary, and a love of genre storytelling. She is the creator of the witchy political thriller I Am Hexed and has contributed to a variety of comics and anthologies, working with artists from around the globe. Aperture, her collaboration with artist Huenito, continues her exploration of genre-bending stories that challenge expectations and captivate readers.

Huenito (João Gabriel) is a Brazilian illustrator and comic book artist whose bold, expressive style blends dynamic storytelling with rich, character-driven detail. Born in São Caetano do Sul and now based in Cosmópolis, São Paulo, he has brought his artistic vision to editorial and advertising projects for clients including P&G, SBT, and the Brazilian Federal Government. Huenito has published multiple comics, including the darkly imaginative Vlad, and is the co-creator and illustrator of Teeth of God, the acclaimed graphic novel produced in collaboration with the band Sleep Token. His work spans genres from fantasy to contemporary drama, always rooted in strong visual narratives.
