Anita Albus (Bilingual edition)

Die Kunst zu sehen | The Art of Seeing
Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
At first glance, Anita Albus's artistic practice seems a welcome anachronism amid the fast pace of contemporary art. She creates detailed images of plants and animals using colour pigments made by hand, drawing inspiration from the still lifes of the Old Masters. Her art sits at the intersection of meticulous natural research and creative expression, producing paradise-like illustrations also featured in her children's books. This bilingual edition invites readers to explore Albus's artistic research, accompanied by a survey of her captivating works.

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

At first glance, Anita Albus's artistic practice seems like a welcome anachronism in the midst of the fast pace of contemporary art production: the artist creates detailed images of plants and animals using colour pigments she makes herself. She is inspired, among other things, by the still lifes of the Old Masters.

With her art, Albus moves at the intersection of meticulous nature research and creative work - the results are paradise-like illustrations that the artist also publishes in the children's books she has written. In 2004, Kunsthalle Kiel purchased a convolute of her works and published the accompanying book The Art of Seeing.

The new edition of this enchanting survey volume invites the reader on a discovery tour of Albus's artistic research.
