Ever since Amelia Bedelia made her debut almost 30 years ago, young readers have been laughing out loud at the antics of this literal-minded but charming housekeeper who never fails to confound the Rogers family. Full color.
From dressing the chicken to drawing the drapes, Amelia Bedelia does exactly what Mr. and Mrs. Rogers tell her to do. If things get a bit mixed up, well, that's okay. When Amelia Bedelia is involved, everything always turns out perfectly in the end!

"Right on the button for juvenile humour!" praises K., highlighting its perfect blend of text, pictures, and lighthearted wit. The School Library Journal notes the "hilarious antics" of a maid whose literal interpretations spark laughter. Publishers Weekly and Horn Book Magazine agree that the book is an entertaining read-aloud for younger children, ensuring giggles throughout. Comparisons to Mary Poppins appear, but Amelia Bedelia's uniquely silly charm shines through as noted by Saturday Review.
