In 1984 & Animal Farm by George Orwell, two foundational stories explore themes of totalitarianism, power, and rebellion. 1984 is set in a dystopian future where government surveillance and manipulation have eradicated individual freedom. Animal Farm allegorises the rise and fall of revolutionary ideals through a group of farm animals who overthrow their human farmer. Both narratives serve as poignant critiques of societal structures and the corruptibility of ideals.
