Behind the Conspiracy

What leads people to think a particular incident is a conspiracy, leading to various theories as to what happened? Have important events occurred through secret plots by malevolent and powerful people? For example, it is said that over half of Americans believe that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Also, it is said over a third of Americans still believe that global warming is a hoax.

In Behind the Conspiracy, a selection of twenty-eight true life case stories involving unsolved crimes, mysterious deaths and dastardly deeds, curious disappearances of people, and events that never seemed to be truly solved are presented. For example:

History has repeatedly shown that political and corporate identities have conspired against public interests. Conspiracy theories can play an important role in bringing their nefarious deeds to the light - and hopefully, in some cases, to justice and/or closure.
