See moreThis is a beautifully illustrated picture book journey through a hundred-year-old New Orleans home in both English and Spanish.
Claudie lives in a house in the oldest part of New Orleans, a city where Mardi Gras beads dance in the breeze and every corner is steeped in history. Her home is a treasure trove of a hundred years’ worth of stories, some of which we cannot see, but only feel. Join Claudie as we explore the design and decoration of each room through her creative eye — and that of a certain spirit, whose suggestions, for the sake of historical preservation, are always considered.
Written by a New Orleans enthusiast, The House, the Ghost, and Me is the perfect picture book for your little ones with a curious mind for interior design. This bilingual picture book will help them learn the importance of preservation while also empowering them to express their creativity – interior design with a not-so-spooky twist.

About the Author
Tessa B.H. Ruiz grew up in Portland, Oregon. She received her BA in Fine Arts at the University of Southern California, where, in the depths of the library, she became enamored with the architecture of New Orleans. After living in the French Quarter, she wrote her debut picture book, The House, the Ghost, and Me, in 2015 under the watchful eye of her newborn. Tessa currently lives in Portland with her husband and two daughters.
Eliza Moreno, an illustrator born in a peaceful desert city in northern Mexico, has forged her artistic path with academic training in language and audiovisual production at the UANL Faculty of Visual Arts. With more than 7 years dedicated to editorial illustration, Eliza finds everyday life, harmony, and small details an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
