In this humorous, imaginative story, a young boy and his sister enjoy a warm bowl of soup on a chilly, rainy day. Once the boy finishes his soup, he falls asleep - and suddenly, his sister's bowl of soup has become a river that begins filling up the entire house!

It sweeps into the living room and picks up dolls, trucks, and trains, then heads into the den and picks up the family dog, still asleep on her bed. Trying to stay afloat, the boy grabs onto a noodle, while Mommy uses a carrot. Luckily, the boy has an idea about how to get rid of the river of soup, and soon, everything is back to the way it was.

About the Author

Tammi Salzano grew up in upstate New York and has been involved in childrens books for 20 years. She has written more than 50 books for young readers and has edited countless more. When shes not busy searching for a word that rhymes with "together," she can be found baking cookies, learning how to crochet, and taking too many pictures of her cats. Several years ago, she decided to escape the cold weather and now lives with her family in sunny Florida.

Irina Avgustinovich is a Belorussian artist and illustrator. She graduated from the College of Fine Arts and Painting Academy. Her field of expertise was academic painting, ceramics, and applied arts. She illustrates books for children and works with numerous Russian publishers. Irina's illustrations are included in the anthology of 222 Best Russian Artists.
