Stan Lee co-wrote the comic book series Defenders of the Earth with Bob Harras and Michael Higgins. Stan Lee was a writer, editor, publisher, and the primary creative leader of Marvel Comics for decades, where he co-created many of the world's most iconic superheroes. His contributions fundamentally shaped the modern comic book industry and global popular culture. 

Bob Harras is an acclaimed American comic book writer and editor best known for his influential work at Marvel and DC Comics. Early in his career, Harras co-wrote Defenders of the Earth alongside Stan Lee, helping bring the iconic animated heroes to the page. He went on to script fan-favorite titles including Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D., The Avengers, and Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Beyond his writing, Harras served as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics (1995–2000) and later DC Comics (2010–2020), shaping some of the industry’s most defining eras.

Michael Higgins is a British comic book writer and editor whose career in comics spans several decades across writing, editing, lettering, and coloring. In the late 1980s, he contributed significantly to Marvel’s Star Comics imprint, serving as editor on the first issue of Defenders of the Earth and writing several key stories in the series, including “Creation,” “Family Honor,” and “Magical Child.” Beyond his work with Marvel, Higgins is known for creating the internationally syndicated British comic Moonbird, further cementing his influence on global comics storytelling. His contributions to the 1987 Defenders of the Earth series—co-authored alongside Stan Lee and Bob Harras—continue to reach new readers through collected editions from Mad Cave Studios.
