I Love My Cat
I Love My Cat is a warm-hearted read-aloud story about a little girl who learns the importance of waiting, and not giving up hope, when her cat goes missing.
I Love My Cat by Simon Mole tells the touching story of Aditi the cat, who is adored by her little girl owner. But when Aditi disappears, heartbreak follows. Will she be found? This beautifully illustrated rhyming story is sure to be cherished by both children and parents.
The tale begins with a little girl who loves her cat in every way, from Aditi's tail to her clever antics, like opening doors and drinking from the tap. However, one day things go awry when Aditi tries to nibble on the girl's toast, refuses to stop, and in the ensuing chaos, they both take a tumble. In frustration, the little girl shouts, "Out!"
The girl's heart breaks when Aditi doesn't return home for dinner. A week passes with Aditi missing, but joy and relief flood in when she finally returns. This story, with its lyrical rhyming text from award-winning children's poet and author Simon Mole, breathes life into the narrative.
This book is the follow-up to I Love My Bike and is the second in a picture-book series that celebrates first experiences and the magic in the everyday.
